Identifying Modern Methods of Performing Field Investigations to Ensure Best Practice Project Delivery

Why are we hosting Urban Geotechnical Practices?

IQPC’s Urban Geotechnical Practices conference has been specifically tailored for the geotechnical engineers of Australia. This conference will discuss the current and future trends in ground investigation and how to strengthen approaches to the biggest challenges in design and engineering of foundation structures.

You will hear about the strategies that enabled the most difficult projects to take place in the most difficult of ground conditions. Case studies will be presented from Australia, New Zealand and internationally.

What Are the Biggest Issues Driving the Evolution of Ground Engineering in Australia?

At IQPC’s Urban Geotechnical Practices you will have the chance to expand your learning and knowledge of:

  • Deep Basement Excavation & Retaining Structures
  • Planning, Designing and Creation of Tunnelling & Underground Spaces
  • Site Preparation & Construction Processes
  • Identifying & Managing Geotechnical Risks

Areas for discussion will include:

  • Overcoming the Uncertainty of Site Conditions to Deliver Accurate Results
  • Specifying which Design Metrics should be Utilised for Individual Projects
  • Ensuring your Involvement Continues through out the Entire Life Cycle of the Project
  • Overcoming Legal Issues Related To Managing Adjacent Properties
  • Handling Groundwater Effectively and Overcoming Settlement Concerns

Most importantly you will learn from past case histories, the successes and the failures!

What will you Gain from this Event

Proven and practical experience is guaranteed at an IQPC conference. Take away valuable ideas through case studies presented by practitioners who have handled firsthand the challenges you face.

The most important learnings you will take from the event include:

1. Developing a business case for the client to secure necessary finances and performing accurate ground investigations

2. Designing sustainable and cost effective retaining structures

3. Being aware of the latest techniques and practices being implemented by world leading engineers

4. Using the knowledge gained to win the next tender and complete the project on time and on budget

5. The latest technology being utilised with-in the industry

I highly recommend Urban Geotechnical Practices to you and your colleagues, and I look forward to seeing you in July.
